چکیده
Acinetobacter baumannii is one of the most important nosocomial pathogen worldwide. This study aimed to investigate virulence potential and genomic relatedness A. strains isolated from patients hospitalized in Military Medical Academy (MMA) by detecting OXA-type carbapenemases genes, biofilm-associated RAPD analysis. PCR was used detect blaoxa ISAba-1 genetic element, genes. The determined analysis using four different primers (AP2, DAF4. M13, DECA). blaoxa-51-like, blaoxa-23-like, blaoxa-24-like, blaoxa-58-like were present 100%, 34.0%, 62.4%, 3.1% isolates, respectively. All isolates had ISAba1 sequence their genome, 35.1% it associated with 97.0% blaoxa-23-like gene. Biofilm-associated genes bap, ompA, epsA, csuA/BABCDE, pgaABCD detected 93.8%, 95.8%, 88.1%, 98.4%, 98.9% showed a high degree genome similarity clonal dispersion isolates. Detection especially percentage indicated great pathogenic potential. revealed level majority through MMA. Further, continuous introduction individual profiles contributes diversity These results can be useful for further management tracking outbreaks.

Molecular Detection of Type II Toxin-Antitoxin Systems and their Association with Antibiotic Resistance and Biofilm Formation in Clinical Acinetobacter baumannii Isolates of Burn Patients
Background and purpose: Burn wounds are a good host for infections. Acinetobacter baumannii is an opportunistic bacterium in patients with burn infections. Toxin-antitoxin systems (TAS) are genetic elements that are essential for antibiotic resistance and biofilm formation in bacteria, including higBA and relBE TA systems. The present study aimed to investigate the frequency of higBA and relBE...

Objective(s): We investigated the contribution of gyrA and parC mutational mechanism in decreased ciprofloxacin susceptibility of Acinetobacter baumannii isolated from burn wound infections. Materials and Methods: Ciprofloxacin susceptibility of 50 A. baumannii isolates was evaluated by disk diffusion and agar dilution methods. PCR and sequencing were performed for detection of mutation in gyr...
متن کاملAntibiotic Resistance Patterns and Prevalence of PER and VEB Resistance Genes among Clinical Isolates of ESBL-Producing Acinetobacter Baumannii
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives: Acinetobacter species are responsible for a wide range of clinical complications in hospitalized patients. Antimicrobial treatment of clinical strains of Acinetobacter baumannii may be compromised due to multiple-drug resistance to b-lactams. Aim of this study was to determine antibiotic resistance patterns an...

conclusions the potential to form biofilm correlated with antibiotic resistance and ampc production in non-burn burn isolates of a. baumannii. on the other hand, the burn strains produced significantly higher amounts of esbl yet biofilm production was unrelated to antibiotic resistance or esbl-production. materials and methods sixty isolates of a. baumannii were employed of which, 30 were burn ...
متن کاملMolecular epidemiology of carbapenem resistance in Acinetobacter baumannii isolates in Shahid Mohammadi Hospital, Bandar Abbas, Iran
Introduction: Acinetobacter baumannii is a major cause of nosocomial infections which affect mainly disabled patients in intensive care units. The bacteria may acquire resistance to antibiotics and hence can seriously endanger antibiotic therapy. The most important problem facing treatment of A. baumannii is increasing reports of resistance to a wide range of antibiotics, including carbapenems,...
